BIOGRAPHY


Mamiko Hirai

Composer

Pianist and composer Mamiko Hirai is a recipient of the S&R Foundation’s 2012 Washington Award. She composes music for motion pictures, television programs, and commercials. She has provided the music for numerous companies such as Canon, Shiseido, Bridgestone, and Mitsubishi. She has also written the theme song for the NHK-BS television series, Nippon Juudan Kokoro Tabi (“Journeys of the Heart Across Japan”), and is working on her solo piano albums, ‘Piano Diary’. She is currently based in Tokyo and hopes that Washington, DC will continue to be another place for her to share her music. www.hirai-mamiko.com
